City of Tshwane health inspectors shut down a franchised Pick n Pay store at the Blu
Valley Mall in Centurion for violating health codes after a Friday morning raid discovered
cockroaches in the baking area and other unsanitary practices. The raid was led by
Tshwane executive mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya and is part of the city's weekly inspections
being run under its "Reclaim Our City" initiative. Pick n Pay apologised to customers,
saying its management team was on the ground within 30 minutes of being informed of
the closure of the franchised store to conduct an audit. Phemelo speaks to Tshwane
