If you drive on Gauteng's busiest roads, you may find yourself being directed by unauthorized "Pointsmen"; a trend that arose during the heaviest days of loadshedding in previous years. It has evolved into a more concerning pattern, with traffic lights reportedly being disabled and vandalized on purpose, to keep the operation going. On Friday, Glen shared his encounter with a drunk, unauthorized pointsman in JHB north last week, who caused chaos at a Johannesburg intersection, so we reached out to the Johannesburg Metro Police to understand the matter further.
