Western Cape received the highest passes in Maths but only 25% of pupils wrote the subject as matrics opt for Maths Literacy. The team discussed the differences between pure Maths and Maths Literacy, as well as the reason for the introduction of the latter. They pondered, although doing Maths Literacy helps the pupils pass, but does it prepare them for the future?
