Former Joburg Mayor Gwamanda arrested for fraud

Johannesburg Mayor, Dada Morero has confirmed the arrest of Kabelo Gwamanda could lead to his predecessor having to step aside from executive roles. It’s understood t weekend that Gwamanda was arrested on Friday for an alleged funeral policy scam he ran in Soweto in 2011. Gwamanda is currently the MMC for community development. The DA has welcomed Gwamanda’s arrest saying the latest developments, while overdue, further confirms the party’s warnings about the ANC and its coalition partners’ failure to provide ethical and transparent leadership for the people of Johannesburg.
