It's been 10 years since the day that Bafana Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa was tragically killed on 26 October 2014. After waiting 7 years for suspects to be charged, and for the trial to commence, the public has since witnessed one of the most complex high-profile murder trials in South Africa's history.
Now that the trial is in its 3rd year, and public interest in the trial proceedings seems to be waning, especially after the trial-within-a trial proceedings, evidence intricacies, the long list of witnesses and experts, changing of legal representatives for the accused individuals, the changing of the judges, and the subsequent trial delays and postponements.
