MEC for Education speaks about THE 2024 VISUAL ARTS AND DESIGN PRIZE-GIVING COMPETITION IN THE MBOMBELA GALLERY

The 2024 Visual Art and Design Prize Giving Ceremony servers as vehicle to celebrate the province’s rich indigenous flora through the eyes of its talented learners and teachers.

This occasion will be at the Mbombela Gallery in the City of Mbombela Local Municipality.

This prestigious event will recognize and reward exceptional artistic creations that capture the beauty and diversity of South Africa’s natural heritage.

Participants from school within the Province will have the opportunity to showcase their artwork. This exhibition will continue until Friday, 16 August 2024.

The platform will allow for a wider audience to appreciate the creativity and skill of our young artists.

This colorful event takes place at the backdrop of the MEC’s Announcement to establish schools of Specialization (Focus Schools) in performing Arts and Sports

These schools will provide learners with knowledge and skills that are relevant and in demand in today’s society.
They are also meant to bridge the gap between grade 12 and further education while leveraging school-private sector partnerships to expand learner and teacher support.
These schools offer a highly specialized curriculum and target to enhance and nature natural talent of learners in arts and in sports.
