Why the Paris Olympics opening ceremony confused Carmen Reddy

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics took place on 26 July across Paris. Carmen Reddy was left baffled as to why the South African boat didn't seem to follow the alphabetical order. Sky Tshabalala had a great explanation, which was completely untrue, but Darren Maule was able to figure out that the French call us Afrique du Sud.
