In this week's KZN Report, we've got all the very latest news on angling conditions following the severe storm in parts of the province on Monday, plus news on a new South African record AND the latest on the Sardine Run.

KZN had delivered a new unofficial SA record for a 14.3 kg snoek by Ashveer Mohan; we also have reports of significant catches - such as Garrick and Shad - across various locations, plus we provide safety advice for upcoming rough sea conditions.

Offshore: Couta have been making many happy anglers along the coast along with some beastly bottom fish.
Rock and surf: The shore angling has shifted more to spinning with the current target species changing from the summer inedibles to a more edible-dominated mix. Remember the sardines are on the way!

Freshwater: The rains have churned up the rivers and halted a lot of action. In the dams, the bass have continued to hammer the topwater frogs and the rain has not changed that bite much.

Cover art: Ashveer Mohan set a new South African record with a Natal Snoek/Queen Mackerel measuring 120cm, which converted to a weight of a massive 14.3kg. Ashveer landed this catch of a lifetime while spinning off Tugela.
