Ceres Rail Company

Ceres Rail Company was established in 2013 with the goal to re-open the railway line between Wolseley and Ceres and to migrate rail-friendly cargo from road to rail.

Tied in with this is a mission to preserve and promote South African Rail Heritage. The company achieves this by restoring and refurbishing vintage steam locomotives and coaches, and operating scenic train journeys that showcase the natural beauty and heritage of the Western Cape.

Their tagline “Let History Transport You” tells you exactly what you can expect from Ceres Rail Company.
