Health Minister, Ombud angered by death of gang-raped teen denied care by nurses

Both the Health Ombudsman Professor Taole Mokoena and the Minister of Health, Dr Joe Phaahla,
on have expressed their outrage at the actions of two nurses from a clinic in Motherwell in Nelson
Mandela Bay in the Eastern Cape. The nurses sent a raped teenager, who was in desperate need of
medical attention, to walk to a police station. The girl died of an overdose of antibiotics a few hours
later when she had a seizure. Phemelo speaks to Ombud Professor Taole Mokoena and Director for
