City of Ekurhuleni Mayor Tania Campbell assured residents of Kwa-Thema that the city is doing its utmost to restore power in the area.

Kwa-Thema has been without electricity for several days and frustrated residents have taken to the streets in protest.

“Load-shedding is causing damage to municipal electricity infrastructure, which has resulted in extensive damage to one of the two transformers that service the area,” said Campbell.
