The author of a book about a little known massacre in East London almost 70 years ago has told Hot1027 news she hopes her investigation will help piece together the disturbing events of 1952.

Mignonne Breier's "Blood Sunday" has made it to this year's edition of the Sunday Times Literary awards - in partnership with Exclusive Books.

At the centre of the true story is an Irish nun who was killed during the shocking massacre , and the cover up that followed.
