This women's Day , we're reflecting on the lives of inspiring women who put everything on the line , to lead the charge in the fight for equal rights...

It was on this day 66 years ago that Lilian Ngoyi, Sophie DeBruyn, Rahima Moosa and Helen Joseph led 20 000 women in a march to the Union Buildings in protest of the oppressive Pass Laws.

Their names are inscribed in the history books alongside other bold and brave women who were instrumental in changing the face of the world's political landscape.

And from the outside at least , they appeared fearless..
