This is Rodney Trudgeon and I’m very excited to introduce you to my guest on People of Note this week. Her name is KIRSTEN NEUSCHAFER and she is a hugely experienced solo yachtsman who has spent the last 5 years cruising the Southern Ocean alone while working for Skip Novak, including sail training and deliveries. Now she is about to undertake her biggest challenge as the only woman taking part in the notoriously difficult and dangerous Golden Globe Race which sets off from France in September. It is a solo race which means Kirsten will be completely alone at sea for some 7 months and the competitors are not allowed to call into a port at any stage of the race.
