Cape Town Opera’s production of Gounod’s opera Romeo and Juliet opens on the 18th of November at Artscape. The production 1s being directed by Dr Marcus Desando, a South African born opera singer and director now living and working in Amsterdam. Rodney Trudgeon spoke to Dr Desando about his approach to this opera, based on such a famous story, and how he sees it resonating with Cape Town audiences.
