After a humiliating defeat to bitter rivals Manchester City, Manchester United find themselves in even hotter water than before. A dismal defensive effort saw the Citizens crush the Red Devils 4-1. After reports suggested that Ronaldo would be benched and used as an ‘impact sub’ more information developed stating that the 5 time Ballon d’Or winner was yet again suffering from his hip flexor injury which eventually saw the player not feature on the team sheet at all. When current caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick took over, he proceeded to explain that players should stay at the club when recovering from any injuries and not fly back to their home country and it looks like Cristian Ronaldo didn’t quite get the memo.
