The Wits School of Governance and the National School of Government hosted the launch of The Political Economy of Vaccines: Access, Equity, and Africa’s Manufacturing Prospects Series, a series of conversations on the political economy of vaccines. A sharp spotlight on global inequalities and the interplays of power between the developed and developing countries.
Dr John Nkengasong, Director of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention delivered a keynote address on the topic Vaccine Nationalism and Africa’s Drug Manufacturing Prospects.
Respondents: Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng, Special Rapporteur, United Nations and Zane Dangor, Special Adviser to the Minister of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
