Episode 78 - THE WAYS WE PLAY With LEGO Country Manager Kristian Imhof
--:--
THE WAYS WE PLAY
Play was always meant to be the fun part of parenting, right? Especially when it comes to buying toys and spending that all-important Q-T with your cuties.
It was supposed to be fun (and it can still be), if we didn't have so much to consider. Things like:
- Are you getting in enough floor play with your kids or do you expect too much independent play?
- Are you providing enough opportunities for imaginative play?
- Are you ensuring a healthy balance between screen time and outside play?
- Are your kids’ toys open-ended or are they branded and prescribed?
- Are they wooden and toxic-free or are they plastic and unsustainable?
And the list goes on.
The black/white prescriptions that have been drafted for modern parents have put a damper on play time (and parenting in general).
In this episode of The Great Equalizer we unpack those parenting prescriptions as they relate to play and we consider a different route going forward.
Weighing in on the matter is LEGO South Africa Country Manager Kristian Imhof. We find out who calls Kristian 'dad' and pick his brain about the power of play and unhealthy prescriptions for parenting.
Also on the cards this week… Sam is not okay (and that’s okay) and Charlene is another year wiser.
