South Africa will hold the local government elections on 27 October. This was announced by president Cyril Ramaphosa. This will be the sixth time in democratic SA that voters will elect leadership and public representatives at Metro, District and local levels.
So is the country ready for the polls? We now chat to political science lecturer at the University of South Africa (UNISA) Prof Dirk Kotze.
