Thousands of people ran in different directions as lava spewed out onto the streets. Over 400 earthquakes and tremors been felt since and thousands of people have been displaced. 20.05.2021 - Kelly is a 28 year old relief pilot, who founded a non-profit flying supplies to rural areas in S. Africa. Born in Grahamstown and raised in Pretoria. Matriculated from an arts school specializing in music and drama, but her purpose prevailed and Kelly ended up in flight school. She worked for a charter company and flight school before pursuing The Plane Project full-time. She is passionate about social equality and is currently completing her LLB, with a focus on Humanitarian Law.
She has just completed her 100 000th relief drop in areas of need within rural South Africa. Kelly Slingers, 28-year-old relief pilot is making waves in aviation and in the humanitarian sector. With a heart passionate about service, Kelly founded The Plane Project and has flown goods all around South Africa, bringing Covid relief goods to vulnerable areas, as well as supplies for communities without access to basic goods. She joins Lauren to talk about a life of service, flying relief goods in the Western Cape and how things are changing for women in aviation.

13.05.2021 - Refiloe is a best selling South African children's book author, as well as a poet and songwriter, specialisng in diverse books.Lauren is joined by bestselling childrens book author Refiloe Moahloli to discuss her journey writing diverse books for childrens of different ages, as well as her journey writing books which foster kindness, unbuntu, and connection. She is also joined by Khumo Tapfumaneyi co - founder of a specialised bookstore for children, that focuses on books that appreciate our South African heritage.
Ethnikids was co- founded by 5 black moms who wanted to find and feature books which were diverse in langage and representation. Today, their endeavour has led them to start a start a s specialised bookstore which has garnered a large following, media attention and much love from South African moms and their children.

Yet, women still face obstacles when it comes to equal pay, access to finances in marriage and in big corporations. Financial wellness coach Janine Horn joins Lauren to equip women on how to take control of their financial well-being.

Voice of Change - David Eubank - The Free Burma Rangers (FBR)

29-04-2021 - About the Show: The Burmese army siezed control of the country in a coup at the beginning of 2021. Free Burma Rangers director, David Eubank works on the frontlines bringing humanitarian and medical help to those in Burma caught up in the violence on the Burmese streets. Hundreds of civilians have been killed in the past few weeks, and over a million people in Burma, have been displaced. David joins Lauren to discuss events on the ground in Burma and what being a special forces captain has taught him about God, justice, and forgiveness. Bio: The Free Burma Rangers (FBR) is a multi-ethnic humanitarian service movement working to bring help, hope and love to people in the conflict zones of Burma, Iraq, and Sudan. Working in conjunction with local ethnic pro-democracy groups, FBR trains, supplies, and later coordinates with what become highly mobile multipurpose relief teams. After training these teams provide critical emergency medical care, shelter, food, clothing and human rights documentation in their home regions. Director, missionary and special forces captain David Eubank is on the show.
