Constantia Waldorf School

The Constantia Waldorf School began in 1959 as a single Kindergarten class in the garage of Rupert and Lyda Braunlich’s home in Pinelands. As interest grew, the Primary School opened in 1960 in Rondebosch, and in 1967 the school moved to its present grounds in Constantia, gradually expanding each year to offer a full curriculum up to Matric. Today, our school is a vibrant campus, serving over 400 children in an environment that continues to cultivate curiosity and dynamic learning experiences through a Waldorf Curriculum.

Waldorf education has been practised internationally for over 100 years. The first Waldorf school was founded in Stuttgart, Germany in 1919, and today Waldorf schools can be found in more than 1200 schools across 70 countries.
