Stock Watch - Stock picks — Remgro and Brookfield Renewable Partners
--:--
Gerbrand Smit from N-e-F-G Fund Management chose Remgro as his stock pick of the day and Devin Shutte from The Robert Group chose Brookfield Renewable Partners LP.
Smit said: I'm going to go for Remgro, it has been undervalued for quite some time and came out with its results on 30 June 2020 and its intrinsic value of the asset we're about R154 a share. It traded today at R101 but it has below R100 for quite some time now. That's about a 35% discount on what the book value of its assets were on 30 June 2020, that means almost the low of where Covid prices were.
Shutte said: "My stock is a US listed company it's called Brookfield Renewable Partners and is one of the largest owners of renewable assets globally; most of them hydroelectric assets. And these assets have a hundred year lifespan so the return on investment of them is very compelling.
