North West police confirm cause of boys' deaths

North West police have confirmed that preliminary results show that two ten year boys, who died in Mahikeng earlier this week, indeed drowned. Police earlier did not want to divulge any further information as speculation surrounding the cause of the boys' death was rife and even led to violence. Premier Job Mokgoro yesterday had to placate irate residents of Montshiwa, who wanted to take the law into their own hands after it was spread on social media that the boys were allegedly kidnapped on Tuesday and then murdered and mutilated by foreign nationals. The bodies of Onalenna Molehabangwe and Gontse Cholowere were Thursday night found in a swimming pool at a residence in Imperial Reserve. An eye witness claimed they were kidnapped but it has also been speculated that they might have drowned. Police spokesperson, Lesedi Dingoko says the investigation continues
