Vodacom H1 HEPS drop as BEE deal bites

Mobile giant, Vodacom released its interim results today reporting a near 14% drop in headline earnings per share as the impact of its R16.4 billion empowerment deal weighed. The company added 4.8 million customers during the period most of which came from the domestic market where service revenue was lifted by 4.6% while reveue growth fell to 4.3% from nearly 8% while group revenue rose 5.6%, the interim dividend is up 1.3% to R3.95 Shameel Joosub, CEO of Vodacom joins us on the line to unpack the detail behind the numbers.
