The State's application that the bail of one of the accused in the Parys farm murders case be withdrawn is expected to be heard today.
The State alleges that Anton Loggenberg threatened to kill its Section 204 witnesses, who agreed to testify against the accused in exchange for indemnity. It lodged an application yesterday that his bail be withdrawn. Magistrate Gustav Prinsloo recused himself from the matter as the defendant is known to him. Another Magistrate will be brought in today to hear the application, as Dane Beisheim reports.
Boeta van der Westhuizen, his son Loedie, Miela Janse van Vuuren, Anton Loggenberg and his son Cor, as well as Henk Prinsloo of the SAPS are all charged with murdering Samuel Tjixa en Simon Jubeba in January 2016.
