People of Note - Athol Fugard
--:--
On People of Note this Sunday Chris Nicklin interviews South Africa’s greatest playwright, Athol Fugard. He’s back in town for the run of his new play, intriguingly titled ‘The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek’. Athol Fugard provided world theatre with a major sequence of plays largely influenced by Apartheid and its legacy. Now well into his 80s, he says there are still a few more plays in him. But he’s clearly reached an introspective stage of life and it seems unlikely any will be his usual acerbic take on contemporary life in South Africa.
