Free State police cannot predict how long investigations will take allowing them to formally charge two bus drivers involved in an accident which claimed the lives of 10 ANC members at the weekend.
Five men and five women were killed when the bus, which was taking them home from the party's manifesto launch in Port Elizabeth, overturned. A police investigation has revealed that the bus overturned when the drivers where swapping seats while driving.
Free State police spokesperson, Malebo Khosana, says they must still gather all the information needed, following which a docket will be taken to the public prosecutor for a decision.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide. One of the drivers is still in hospital.
