The South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) in the Free State has lashed out at the provincial Education Department, saying it was not given a chance to respond to allegations contained in a report about the alleged selling of teaching posts.
According to a leaked report, seen by Sadtu, Free State Education MEC, Tate Makgoe, allegedly claimed that the teachers union was a problem and contributed to the devaluation of education in the country.
A national ministerial task team was established by Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga, after media reports about the alleged selling of teaching posts and Sadtu's involvement therein.
Moloi says serious allegations are made in the leaked report.
