Africa's largest solar plant "switched on" in De Aar today

The new Solar Capital power plant, that was officially opened in De Aar today, will not only provide enough energy to the national power grid to power 75 000 homes, but will also boost the economy of the region. Solar Capital employed over 2 000 locals during construction and 100 people are currently employed on its operations and maintenance team.

Minister of Energy, Tina Joeman-Petterson, "flipped the switch" of the 90 MW solar plant this morning.
