Judgment is expected to be handed down today in the case against four men accused of murdering Parys businessman, Craig Marx.

Koenraad van Aswegen Sr, his sons Koenraad Jr. and Nickolai, as well as their friend David Kuyler are accused of murdering Marx in December 2014. They face additional charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances and defeating the ends of justice.

Danie Pretorius for the state rejected Koenraad Jr's claim that Marx’s death by suffocation was an accident, stating that “even the most dull-witted person could foresee that cutting off someone’s air supply could be fatal”.

A fifth accused, André Kruger, earlier turned state witness and testified against the men.

OFM News’ Dane Beisheim reports that the state praised Kruger for his testimony.
