MIDWEEK CHAT | What Part Of Our Culture Are Young People Slowly Forgetting?

Loading player...
As Heritage Month comes to an end, we reflect beyond the celebrations, traditional attire, food, music and cultural festivities to ask a deeper question: What part of your culture are young people slowly forgetting? For generations, culture has been passed down through language, traditional ceremonies, respect for elders, family traditions, indigenous games, music, dance and traditional food. But with changing lifestyles, social media and evolving attitudes, some of these traditions are becoming less common among younger generations. Are we slowly losing important parts of our cultural identity — or is culture simply evolving with the times? In this Midweek Chat, Capricorn DRIVE explores what may be disappearing, why it is happening, and whether these traditions can still be preserved for future generations.
