IN CONVERSATION WITH SOSO THE MAGICIAN

Loading player...
South African magician Sonwabile Mekuto, better known as SosoTheMagician, has turned a childhood passion for magic into a career that has taken him across the country.

Originally from Cape Town, Soso moved to Johannesburg in 2018 after completing his studies at the College of Magic, where he spent seven years learning the art of magic alongside mime, clowning, juggling and performance skills.

Since then, he has performed magic shows around South Africa, won magic competitions and built a following through his performances.

But his work goes beyond entertaining audiences. Every Tuesday, Soso works with Reach For A Dream at Steve Biko Academic Hospital, using entertainment to bring moments of joy to children who are seriously ill, including children living with cancer and those who have spent long periods in hospital.
