Eskom says it has moved from a period of recovery and stabilisation towards a new phase focused on transformation, financial sustainability and the long-term future of South Africa’s electricity system.
Releasing its Annual Results for the financial year ended 31 March 2026, Eskom reported a significantly improved financial performance, alongside gains in generation performance, electricity availability and system reliability.
The utility recorded a profit after tax of R30.3 billion, more than double the R14 billion reported in the previous financial year. Eskom also reported an improved Energy Availability Factor of 65.16%, compared with 60.60% in FY2025.
