Wanda Baloyi, born on May 6, 1980, in Johannesburg, South Africa, is a South African-Mozambican singer known for her distinctive blend of Afro-soul and R&B. She began her music career in high school as the lead vocalist of the all-girl group Ghetto Luv. Baloyi has released four albums, including her debut solo album "Voices" in 2003, which earned her a KORA Award for Best African Arrangement in 2004. She has collaborated with various artists and has been recognized with multiple awards, including the KORA and SAMA awards. Baloyi has also ventured into the role of a hose disk jockey and has expressed her admiration for Oleta, a singer she admired growing up. Her music career is influenced by her multicultural background, with her father, Jaco Maria, being a significant influence.
