Matlou Setati is the Executive for the Food Safety & Sustainability Initiative (FSSI) at the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa (CGCSA), where she leads advocacy and engagement across food science, safety, quality, nutrition, health and wellness, sustainability and regulatory affairs. With more than two decades of experience spanning the South African food and agricultural sectors, including 10 years in public service at the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Setati brings extensive expertise in food regulations, quality assurance and national and international food-control systems. Her experience includes participation in key regulatory and trade platforms such as BUSA, NEDLAC, Codex-related processes and international forums, including the UNECE, where she served as Vice Chairperson of the Dry and Dried Produce Standards Committee from 2014 to 2016.
