Hip hop star Rougé is set to shake up prime-time TV as she steps into her first major acting role, portraying the fierce villain Darlene on Scandal! tomorrow night.

The University of Pretoria drama and film alumni describes the role as “full circle,” marking a return to her first love: acting through what she calls one of the baddest chapters of her career.

Rougé tells Sowetan she’s excited for fans to see her bring Darlene to life, avenging her on-screen brother Sanka (Stevel Marc), who was killed by Mdala (James Sithole) for having an affair with Thlogi (Makoma Mohale).
