This week on Travel Tourism Diaries we join Sitheni Nleya as she talks to Kumbi Chiweshe who is a prominent Zimbabwean tourism professional who has represented the Zimbabwe Tour Operators Association and acted as a key figure in the recovery of the sector. A Victoria Falls-based destination management company owner, he has served as a board member for Africa's Eden Tourism Association. She also pays respect to the Paul Connolly, the pioneering founder of Shearwater Adventures, has died aged 72 after a suspected heart attack following a kayaking trip on the Zambezi. The man who pioneered rafting on the Zimbabwe side of the falls in 1985 died in the gorges he loved. A legal mind, conservationist, and community champion, his legacy is the thriving adventure tourism industry itself. Deepest condolences to his family and the Shearwater team.
