The MMC Public safety Dr Mgcini Tshwaku expresses profound outrage and concern over the unlawful arrest of five dedicated members of our Tactical Response Unit (TRU) and two officers from our Vehicle Recovery Unit by members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) at Bekkersdal SAPS. This incident, which occurred during a legitimate vehicle recovery operation, highlights a disturbing pattern of interference and hostility that undermines collaborative law enforcement efforts in Gauteng and endangers public safety.
