Academic activities have been halted at the main campus of the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein. This takes place during the ongoing protests by students over the cancellation of provisional registration.
Students mobilised from Sunday night to completely shut down the campus. They’ve vowed to continue with what they call peaceful protest marches until the university reverses its decision.
Six male students, aged between 19 and 24 were apprehended by security officers.
The suspects were arrested after throwing a self-made petrol bomb at the guard room situated at gate 2 Bedenhoust Street, University of the Free State. The police together with crime scene experts were called to process the scene.
