The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) intends to open a criminal case against Operation Dudula and the management of the Alexandra Community Health Centre, following the death of a one-year-old child. The child’s mother, a Malawian national named Grace Banda, said she and her sick child were turned away from the clinic on 31 July because she did not have a South African ID; she had a passport. When turned away, she was told to use private medical facilities. The child died the next day.
