Gauteng MEC for Social Development, Faith Mazibuko, has called for the urgent activation and regular updating of the national sex offenders registry, warning that delays in the system are putting children’s lives at risk.
Mazibuko made the call during a march held in observance of International Children’s Day. Joined by activists and child-focused organisations, she led participants from Peter Roos Park in Parktown to the Constitutional Court, demanding stronger protections for children.
