My current research focuses on assessing metals distribution in coastal environment using the bioindicator species like invertebrates and algae. The intertidal zone as the transition between land and ocean is the ultimate dumping point of chemicals from varying distribution sources like storms and runoffs, sewage deposition, agricultural activities, nearby industries, and harbour-related activities which significantly impact the marine ecosystems. The findings from this research study will be necessary for the development of the appropriate strategies for the contaminants monitoring in coastal environment, as well for determining the health status of urban coastal sites.
