Monday of the 22nd January 2024 saw the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Human Settlements and Public Works Sipho "KK" Nkosi embarking on the first of his Operation Siyahlola series in the new year as he visited the uLundi Local Municipality in Zululand District Municipality.
MEC "KK" Nkosi conducted the Operation Siyahlola on the Zungu Rural Housing Project Phase 3 in the Wela area of Ward 8 where he officiated at the hand over of two houses to Gogo Mvelase and Gogo MaCebekhulu Zulu.
The two houses are part of the 117 completed houses of the 500-units Zungu Rural Housing Project Phase 3 which was launched less than four months ago.
The MEC was accompanied by uLundi Local Municipality Mayor Councillor Wilson Ntshangase and Ward 8 Councillor Sibiya as well as the leadership of the South African National Civics Organisation (SANCO) led by its Mzala Nxumalo Regional Chairperson Mr Zungu and his Deputy Mr Khaya Khumalo. Also in attendance were the Human Settlements Department General Manager for Corporate Services Mr Max Mbili and the Department's Northern Region Manager Mr Zithulele Mbonane
