Accused in Phala Phala $580,000 theft case make first appearance

Namibian nationals 39 year-old Imanuwela David and 30-year-old Froliana Joseph made their first court appearance at the Bela Bela magistrate's court on Tuesday in connection with the theft of $580,000 (about R10.6m) at President Cyril Ramaphosa's Phala Phala farm in February 2020. The matter has been postponed to November 10 with both accused in custody.

Spaza shop registration deadline extended to February

The deadline for spaza shops and other small food outlets to register their businesses has been extended to February 28.  This was announced during a press briefing on Wednesday by ministers leading the multidisciplinary team in government responsible for the national response to instances of food-borne illnesses and illicit trade.
