This morning we walk further along the trail of this uniquely African lamellophone and we are joined by Mpiwa Gwindi France based Zimbabwean performing artist and multi instrumentalist.
Who started playing the marimba and shakers at 10 years old, the mbira at 14, then took up the guitar at 17, and djembe at 20.
Mpiwa has performed on various national and international stages including the Los Angeles World Championships of Performing Arts, the Harare International Festival of Arts, Campus Music Concerts in Singapore and high-profile events in South Africa including her recent debut at the Jazz Room in Rosebank.
