In conversation with Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter

One thing that's remained so consistently true about this man over the years is his never say never attitude. He's been mocked, humiliated and rejected over and over in the past, but he's always gotten up, dusted himself and tackled the next challenge with grace.
On both occasions at his previous clubs Swallows and AmaZulu, he was sacked ahead of the second leg of the MTN8 semi-final. And hey, guess what, he is now a runner up in the Nedbank Cup. A massive for not only his club Sekhukhune United, but for Brandon Truter. I'll tell you why many have always embraced coach Braggies whenever he was handed the short end of the stick in his previous two jobs. First he guided the Birds back to the DStv Premiership - Swallows had been absent from South Africa's top-flight for five years - by winning the National First Division. In Truter's first taste of the big league, Swallows finished an admirable sixth pace in the 20/21 season, then got fired soon after that. Truter then replaced fellow Capetonian and legendary Bafana Bafana star Benni McCarthy at AmaZulu. Usuthu were in the trenches and fighting for survival. He rescued the side and secured a seventh-place finish, and the owners rightly handed him a three-year contract, but was relieved of his duties five months later. Was brought in at Babina Noko after they registered five defeats, five draws and two wins in 12 games, and hey, under his tutelage, Sekhukhune have a win ratio of 63.16% from 22 matches - 12 wins, five draws and five defeats as well as their first topflight Cup. Remarkable season. And an even more remarkable human being. Let's review this campaign with Coach Brandon.
