‘Liquor is nothing, liquor is not important,’ says elder of Enyobeni tavern tragedy

Hundreds of Scenery Park community members organised a candlelight vigil and march to the Enyobeni tavern on Wednesday. They demanded closure of the venue and the removal of its owner from the area after the mysterious deaths of 21 children there on Sunday. Among them was an elder who called on the youth to realise that alcohol was “nothing and not important”. A local high school pupil also spoke to TimesLIVE and highlighted some of the issues the incident had brought to light.
