On Wednesday the 9th of February 2022, a RISE fm journalist called suspended Mpumalanga ANC heavyweight Ngrayi Ngwenya over allegations that he is behind "wayward Nkomazi Local Municipality mayor Johan Mkhatshwa."
During the brief interview, Ngwenya revealed that he is "not a member of the ANC."
