This past weekend saw the first leg fixtures of the quarter final stages in the CAF Champions league, MC Alger and Wydad AC played out a 1-all draw and CR Belouizdad beat ES Tunis 2-0. Kaizer Chiefs put one foot into the semi-finals by beating Simba 4-0, but all eyes were on Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns as Pitso was reunited with his old team. After being dominant in the local game and the CAFCL up until now, Downs were always going to be put to the test playing the Egyptian giants

After a dominant DStv Premiership season Mamelodi Sundowns faced off against Al Ahly in the first leg of their CAF Champions League Quarter finals. The Brazilians came off second best losing that game 2-0. “Pitso knows Downs’ weakness” was said by a fan which may prove to be true as that result means Sundowns have it all to do in the return leg in Pretoria.
