Episode 63 – ABOUT TO CRACK? Us Too, Don't Worry

--:--
ABOUT TO CRACK? Us too, don’t worry.

The latest TGE episode is up (YAY!) and even though it was recorded just one week into Lockdown 1.0 – before the extension and before Oom Cyril gave us all a good giggle with his infamous mask fumble – we’re still feeling all the feels and nothing is quite as it should be (still).

We’re living through – nay, PARENTING through – an unprecedented global crisis and the uncertainty surrounding the status quo has evoked all the fear, anxiety and helplessness we felt when our firstborns were first brought to our bosom (poetic, huh?). But for reals.

So at the risk of being ever the Debbie Downers (cuz God knows we’ve been a lot less chirpy over the last couple of months), we decided to touch base with some other moms to see how they’re feeling.

In this episode we bring on board the eternally delightful Angie Batis-Durrant (Miss Lucky Pony), who chats to us about one of her darker lockdown days; new mom-of-two Chloe O'Doherty (Misses Chloe), who gives us some insight into giving birth in the time of Corona; and the wisest of us all, clinical psychologist Carly Abramowitz (On the Couch with Carly), who gives us some tools to deal with the ongoing shitshow.

Our hopes for this episode are that moms feeling depressed or weighted with responsibility feel seen and acknowledged. That pregnant moms who are due to give birth during a time that feels nothing short of apocalyptic know what rockstars they are. And that you, our listeners, give yourselves permission to feel what you need to feel and that you remember to celebrate the small victories.

Did you keep the brood alive this past month? We see you. We salute you. You’re doing a good job
